This is a short book (only forty five pages), which makes it quite appealing to read. It is well structured, with every chapter being dedicated to one of the author’s five pregnancies.
The book is well written, being clear and simple to read. You could quite easily “dip” into chapters, with particular interest to your ownexperiences, without having to read the book as a whole. The book concentrates on how the author felt during each of her five pregnancies. Her emotions at the times of her miscarriages were most identifiable to me. I found myself nodding, thinking, “yes, I felt thattoo.” Her writing resurfaced lots of emotions for me, and reinforced that I am not alone. The author used a different quote at the beginning of each chapter which I considered to be profound and uplifting. The author’s religious beliefs are an underlying and important theme throughout her personal account. She draws on her faith as a coping mechanism. Her spiritual references are particularly strong during her first, second and fifth pregnancies.
